Pre-Season Friendlies
TWO great goals gave Dumbarton their first victory of pre-season against First Division Partick Thistle.
Andy Geggan blasted in an early goal from 20 yards, and that stayed the only goal of the game until 14 minutes from full time.
Thistle then equalised through Simon Donnelly, only for a brilliant strike by Ross Campbell to give Sons the win.
The Jags started well, and Ben Gordon made a blocking challenge to stop Paul Cairney before Stephen Grindlay saved from Liam Buchanan.
On 10 minutes Sons took the lead when a Graham Wilson cross was only half cleared and Geggan lashed home from the edge of the area.
Wilson came close to scoring himself, but his shot was saved, while at the other end further chances fell to Buchanan and Cairney.
Ryan MacBeth had an early second half chance for Thistle, which went past the far post, while an audacious Geggan effort from long range was saved.
Wilson again went close with a shot that went across goal and wide before Thistle equalised.
A passing move played Donnelly in through the defence and he slotted home to level.
Geggan tried again from distance and this time his shot went out off the bar before Campbell spectacularly clinched the win with three minutes to go.
He cut in from the right, and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the corner of the net from 20 yards.
