Annan Ath 20s (1) v Dumbarton (4)

Tuesday 30th September 2014, Kick Off 7.30pm

SPFL Development League

The final scoreline of 4-1 suggests a comfortable night's work for the Sons but there was defensive resilience as well as superior finishing behind the win.

Mark McLaughlin, Lee Mair, Steven McDougall played in front of Jamie Ewings in a line-up that added experience to the development team.

Sons edged ahead after 15 mins when McLaughlin tapped home but the home side were soon back on level terms when Ewings was beaten 10 mins later.

Calum Smith restored Dumbarton's advantage shortly before half-time following terrific work by Donald McCallum.

The Annan rearguard were by far the busier unit and it came as no surprise when Mikey Hopkins made it 3-1 fifteen minutes into the second half.

Donald Mccallum, who earlier provided an assist, rounded off the scoring by adding a fourth goal shortly before the final whistle.

Coach Colin Nish was understandably delighted with the outcome.

He said : "It was pleasing to get a few goals as well as getting our first win."
