DUMBARTON FC today announce that it is in early stage discussions with West Dunbartonshire Council and commercial partners about the potential development of a mixed use stadium and leisure facility.

No site has been identified as yet and we are working with the council to review the suitability of a number of options.

As a prelude to any process, the Club intend to apply for outline planning permission for some of the land surrounding the current Strathclyde Homes Stadium.

It is not intended that this project will be executed but it will allow finance to be raised if necessary in order to help fund the early stages of any new stadium project and further investment in the team.

We intend to meet with tax and property lawyers in the next few weeks to ensure that any project is structured in such a way as to be tax efficient and pose no financial threat to Dumbarton Football Club Limited.

The outcome of such meetings would in due course require the approval of the Board of Directors of Dumbarton FC and would be put in front of the shareholders for approval at an E.G.M.
