SONS overcame a stuffy Peterhead team to win 1-0 at the Strathclyde Homes Stadium tonight.
A combination of heavy rain and traffic problems affecting the Highland team meant that the kick-off was delayed 15 minutes.
Sons took the lead after half an hour thanks to a Scott Chaplain penalty after Roddy Hunter was judged by the referee to have been pushed in the back, a decision that baffled most.
The well struck spot kick proved to be the winner despite heavy and relentless Peterhead pressure in the second period.
