EXCLUSIVE: ALLY'S HEART IS IN SONS MOVE

Friday 21st July 2017

HE'LL be doing the business on the opposite side of the country most weeks.

But Ally Roy hopes to produce form for Dumbarton that will make his parent club Hearts sit up and take notice.

The 20-year-old is on loan to Sons initially until January and made his debut in Tuesday's Betfred Cup tie against Ayr United.

Despite the 3-1 reverse, Ally was impressed with what he saw and felt that Dumbarton were out of luck on the night.

He now hopes to be involved when Sons travel to face Clyde tomorrow - and to impress during his loan.

Speaking to www.dumbartonfootballclub.com, Ally said: "I'm delighted to be coming in on loan to the club.

"I'm really looking forward to the season ahead. It's a big challenge for me and hopefully I can come here, score some goals and help the team out.

"We were unfortunate not to win on Tuesday night. A few decisions could have gone our way and that would have made it a different game.

"But I've been really impressed with what I've seen. The manager has a lot of great ideas and some really great players on the books."

Ally signed a new two-year deal with Hearts during the close season and is in his third loan spell from Tynecastle, having previously turned out for East Stirlingshire and Stenhousemuir.

He added: "The whole idea of going out on loan is that I am able to go back to Hearts and challenge for a first team place.

"If I can do well with Dumbarton, that will help me push on and hopefully achieve that goal."
