Friday 9th July 2010
LIFELONG Sons fan and local businessman David Rowatt was delighted to have won the right to have his company logo displayed on the new DFC kit for season 2010/2011.
The elder statesman of the current DFC squad Andy Geggan, drew out ball number 7 which meant that the Helensburgh based firm were the first business to be featured as a second sponsor on the new home kit.
Player of the Year Ben Gordon then followed Andy to the stage in the SHS community suite and drew out ball No 15, allocated to Robert Sloan Catering who won second prize as shorts sponsor.
The third prize of a directors day out for 4 next season was drawn by highly rated youngster Martin McNiff, went to Sons fan David Allan
Finally, prize number 4 - a signed and framed new home top- was drawn out by under-19's defender Tony Wallace, and delighted Les Stephen, owner of Watertite Plumbing will soon find a home for the coveted item.
Unique Idea
Sons commercial department came up with the draw as a unique way to tackle the current economic situation and give small businesses and fans a fantastic opportunity to be involved with the club.
Sontrust and commercial director Alan Findlay said : "The Club would like to offer a massive thank you to everyone who supported us on this, the response was brilliant and we have raised a good sum of money.
"Congratulations to all the prize winners, especially to David who won the first prize."

Representatives from each ticket holder were invited to watch the draw and were given their own unique number marked on specially made DFC ping-pong balls.
Gaffer Jim Chapman then put all the entries into a rotating drum for the players to draw at the appropriate time.
Managing Director of Rowatt Furnishings, David Rowatt was on hand to see his lucky ball, No 7, come up first.
He said : "I am delighted. As a Dumbarton fan I feel very proud to be involved as a sponsor.
"Alan made us aware of the opportunity and talked us into entering - and we are very pleased that he did!"

"Here's hoping he invites me along fo the hospitality day!"
Watertite Plumbing is owned by fan Les Stephen, although we all know him better as Pellie the Elephant.
