Dumbarton Football Club - Sons of the Rock 1872

SURPRISE SURPRISE!

Sunday 19th November 2017

YESTERDAY was a special day for lifelong Dumbarton fan Jack Brough who turned 18 earlier in the week.

Jack was a baby and the match mascot when Elgin City were the first club to visit the stadium at the Rock in 2000, and yesterday they were back for a cup tie.

Jack and mum Gillie Brough were there to see Sons beat City 1-0 in their William Scottish Cup third round match.

What he did not know was that Gillie had arranged a special surprise in the Community Suite after the game.

As they sat with friends, in came manager Stevie Aitken, players Sam Wardrop and Chris McLaughlin, and kit man Colm McKinley with a candle-lit 18th birthday cake.

They also presented Jack — who helps the Sonstrust by selling programmes on match days — with an away strip signed by all the squad.
