Dumbarton Football Club - Sons of the Rock 1872
SONS SLUMP CONTINUES
Saturday 24th March 2012
DUMBARTON'S grip on a promotion play-off spot is loosening thanks to yet another lacklustre performance, this time at league leaders Cowdenbeath.
Sons left Central Park on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline, meaning that they have now shipped 12 goals in 4 games.
Marc McKenzie and Lewis Coult had given Cowdenbeath a 2-goal lead after just half an hour and despite Craig Dargo's counter on 33 minutes, Cowden restored their advantage via Joe Mbu's bullet header just before the break.
The second half was a complete non-event from Sons point of view, and the home team finished things off in 81 minutes with McKenzie's second goal.
With East Fife winning at Brechin and Stenny's loss at home to Albion Rovers, both clubs are now just four points behind Dumbarton making next Saturday's clash with Forfar Athletic a crucial game at DFS.
The match report from Jack Crawford and Donald Fullarton's match photos are now online. SonsTV to follow.
