Biography

Jamie, who lives in East Kilbride, was for a time Sons longest-serving player with seven seasons at the club.

He originally joined Sons in June 2011 and over the years has battled with Stephen Grindlay, Danny Rogers, Mark Brown and Alan Martin for a place in goal.

Perhaps Jamie's finest 90 minutes with Dumbarton was in April 2016, on the night when Sons played Rangers at Ibrox with the home team set to win the league. In the end the Gers only did so with a 1-0 victory courtesy of some outstanding goalkeeping by Jamie which earned applause from all camps.

Formerly a youth Motherwell player, Jamie had previously played for Drogheda United against Dynamo Kiev in a Champions League qualifying tie in 2008. That came between two spells with Albion Rovers, and he has also been with Alloa Athletic.

In May 2017 he was appointed goalkeeping coach while remaining a player, but at the end of the 2017-18 season he retired from playing to concentrate on coaching work.

In February 2019 Jazza gained a a UEFA B Goalkeeping Coaching License after an intensive and demanding course, followed by exams, and now he hopes to work towards a a UEFA A License.

In the 2018-19 season he was in the Scotland womens under-17s coaching team who travelled Pinatar
in in Spain for an International Friendly Tournament.
