Biography

Barry became Dumbarton's assistant manager until the end of the 2019-20 season on January 27, and has now accepted a deal for the 2020-21 season.

The 45 year-old Paisley man was most recently assistant manager of Forfar Athletic and before that was manager of Brechin City. Other clubs he has managed in his own right include East Fife, Alloa Athletic and Dundee.

Barry replaced Craig McPherson, who left to take up a role with the Rangers youth academy.

Manager Jim Duffy said: "Barry ended up only being assistant manager for a few weeks of matches but the impression he made was noticeable.

"He is an extremely knowledgeable man and a top professional, and we are delighted he has decided to stay with us for the season ahead."

As a player Barry played in the right back, centre back, and defensive midfielder roles for Celtic, Dundee, Valur, Partick Thistle, Greenock Morton and Brechin City.

He was admitted into Dundee's Hall of Fame having made 400 appearances for the club.
