Dumbarton Football Club - Sons of the Rock 1872

Friday 18th August 2017

SONS are back on the road tomorrow, visiting Palmerston to play Queen of the South.

Manager Stevie Aitken is pleased with his team's start to the season, but is aware that tomorrow's game will be very difficult. He said: "We fought well last week against Falkirk and we'll need to show the same qualities at Palmerston. We are capable of taking something from the game."

Kyle Hutton (pictured) is available following a two-game ban but still out is Grant Gallagher. There are a couple of players with knocks from Wednesday evening's Irn Bru Cup game, including Craig Barr and Tom Walsh. Danny Handling is added to the squad.

Sons record against Queens last season was: Saturday, October 1 2016 - Dumbarton 0 Queen of the South 0; Saturday, December 3 2016 - Queen of the South 1 Dumbarton 2; Saturday, January 21 2017 - Dumbarton 1 Queen of the South 2; Saturday, April 22 2017 - Queen of the South 1 Dumbarton 2.

Gavin Duncan is Saturday's match referee and he will be assisted by Gordon Crawford and Jonathan Bell.
