Dumbarton Football Club - Sons of the Rock 1872

EXCLUSIVE: DEFENDER'S GOALS MEAN GOOD RESULTS!

Friday 22nd February 2019

WHEN Ross Perry scores, his team tends to do well.

His first career goal was for Albion Rovers in a 4-1 win at Arbroath in September 2017.

His second was at Stranraer last week as Dumbarton cantered to a 3-0 victory.

It may only be two goals - but to be on the winning side of a 7-1 aggregate isn't bad going.

And he hopes it can continue into Sons' away trip to face East Fife tomorrow.

Prior to last week's trip to Stair Park, Methil was the only place Dumbarton had taken maximum points from this season, way back on the opening day.

Now Ross is aiming to help them do the double against the high-flying Fife club tomorrow.

Speaking to www.dumbartonfootballclub.com, he said: "It's been a long time coming! It's been a difficult spell but hopefully it's the start of a good run.

"Every game is huge but after the break the previous week, we were keen for the result at Stranraer.

"From now until the end of the season, especially having found ourselves at the bottom of the table, we'll have to work hard for results. We really shouldn't be at the bottom. Hopefully we can build on this.

"I've had a bit of trouble with my back for a few weeks, but I've managed to get over that. I've managed to get my fitness back and played 90 minutes of the recent bounce game at Livingston to get some match sharpness.

"I scored for Albion Rovers at Arbroath last season and they won that game!"

After tomorrow's game, Dumbarton face a home double header against the top two of Raith Rovers and Arbroath.

But Ross said: "After the Stranraer game, we can go into that run with confidence."
