SONS SET FOR UNITED VISIT

Friday 5th July 2019

DUMBARTON face a challenge with just a week to go until competitive action when Dundee United visit the C&G Systems Stadium for a friendly match tomorrow.

Manager Jim Duffy is looking forward to the chance to give the supporters their first opportunity to see the new side in action.

He said: "It's been a tough close season, including the cancellation of Tuesday's friendly with Dunfermline, but we are looking forward to tomorrow.

"Dundee United are one of the favourites in this season's Championship and they will give us a stern test."

In terms of team news, checks will be made on the fitness of Isaac Layne and Conor Scullion prior to kick-off, but otherwise all signed players are available.

And it is likely that a number of trialists will be involved in order to boost the squad.

Alan Newlands will referee the game, with Paul O'Neill and Blair Comerford assisting.

Admission to tomorrow's game will be 10 for adults and 5 for concessions. Supporters are reminded that season tickets are NOT valid.

If you have yet to purchase your season ticket for the coming season, the facility will be available to do so before the match at the counter in Bar 72.

Dundee United supporters should enter via the west turnstiles - the further away end of the stadium from Castle Road.

Supporters, particularly those approaching Dumbarton from Milton, are asked to be mindful of roadworks taking place in the town, close to the stadium.

Although Glasgow Road and Greenhead Road are now re-opened following gas and resurfacing works, temporary traffic lights are in operation on Glasgow Road. Castlegreen Street is also inaccessible to traffic from there while further work takes place.

The stadium can be accessed further along Glasgow Road, via Bruce Street, Victoria Street or Wallace Street and to Castle Road thereafter.

If you usually take this route to the C&G Systems Stadium, you are advised to leave plenty of time for your journey.

The first edition of Sons View, the club's award-winning matchday programme, will be on sale covering this game and Tuesday's friendly with Hamilton Accies. The price remains at 2.50.
