Dumbarton Football Club - Sons of the Rock 1872

DUMBARTON AIM TO BOUNCE BACK

Friday 19th July 2019

MATCHDAY three of Dumbarton's Betfred Cup sectional campaign takes place tomorrow when Queen of the South visit the C&G Systems Stadium.

It will be an afternoon when Sons aim to bounce back from the very disappointing reverse away to Morton on Tuesday.

And manager Jim Duffy is optimistic that the signing of Joe McKee, announced this morning, will boost the squad ahead of lining up against Championship opposition again.

He said: "It goes without saying that Tuesday night's result at Cappielow was not a good one, and is one we want to put behind us quickly.

"Training on Thursday night was about getting it out of our system and we will be ready to go against Queen of the South, who we know will be difficult opponents."

Jim added: "We appreciate the support we have had during our two away games this week, at Annan and Morton. Obviously one result was more positive than the other.

"We will aim to reward our supporters with two positive performances in our home fixtures against Queen of the South and Motherwell."

Subject to registration being completed, McKee will be available to make his debut as a signed player tomorrow.

Conor Scullion is also edging closer to fitness, while Isaac Layne is continuing to recover. Rory Loy remains out.

The game kicks off at the usual 3pm and will go to a penalty shootout for a bonus point if it is drawn over 90 minutes.

Admission tomorrow is 12 for adults and 6 for concessions, and Sons fans are reminded that season tickets are NOT valid.

Only the home end of the stadium will be open tomorrow and all fans should enter via the east turnstiles.

Bar 72 will be open to home and away fans ahead of kick-off, and the second edition this season of the club's award-winning programme, Sons View, will be on sale priced 2.50.

Gavin Duncan will be the referee tomorrow, with assistance from Jordan Stokoe and George King.

Supporters are reminded that Castlegreen Street's junction with Glasgow Road remains closed to traffic.

If this is your usual route to the stadium, then please continue along Glasgow Road and use Bruce Street, Victoria Street or Wallace Street to reach Castle Road.
