Dumbarton Football Club - Sons of the Rock 1872

DUMBARTON START LEAGUE CAMPAIGN

Friday 2nd August 2019

DUMBARTON'S first league fixture of the season takes place tomorrow with a visit to the C&G Systems Stadium by Raith Rovers.

After a punishing Betfred Cup campaign, the Sons squad was given last weekend off to recover and prepare for business in League One.

And manager Jim Duffy is keen to get started in Dumbarton's own divisional arena, and start a journey to gather points which will last until May.

He said: "There were some promising signs in our Betfred Cup fixtures, but it was a tough period for the squad.

"Tuesday night's training session got us back in business and our spirits are high ahead of facing Raith Rovers.

"We know it will be a tough game, but against one of the more fancied sides in the division, it would be a good marker to put down by taking a result."

With the departure of Rory Loy confirmed earlier today, Jim has no injury worries to report ahead of tomorrow's game.

Having made their debuts as substitutes in the last outing against Motherwell, Conor Scullion and Isaac Layne are in line to feature.

Duncan Williams is the referee for tomorrow's game and will have Ross MacLeod and Daniel Graves in assistance.

The third edition of the club's award-winning matchday programme, Sons View, will be on sale tomorrow priced 2.50.

All supporters should enter the ground through the east turnstiles and will have access to Bar 72 before the game. Please note that this updates the information that was broadcast earlier today.

Castlegreen Street is still closed at its junction with Glasgow Road. However, Castle Road can be accessed via Bruce Street, Victoria Street or Wallace Street.

For those who can't make the game tomorrow, in-play Twitter commentary will be available @dumbartonfc and we'll have a match report and pictures available as soon as possible after the final whistle.
