Dumbarton Football Club - Sons of the Rock 1872

DUMBARTON AIM TO FINISH YEAR WELL

Friday 27th December 2019

DUMBARTON bow out of action for 2019 - and indeed the decade - with a home fixture against Stranraer tomorrow.

Six points away from home in the last two fixtures mean that Sons have kept in touch with League One's top four clubs, who all play each other tomorrow.

It is only the game against the Blues, though, that concerns manager Jim Duffy.

And despite Stranraer's current league position, the gaffer is only too aware of the challenge faced tomorrow.

The boss said: "We're delighted with how the last two matches have gone, but they are in the past now.

"In the first half of the season we took 10 points out of 27 at home and we know that must improve in the second half if we are to give ourselves a chance.

"Stranraer haven't had it all their own way recently but we know they will fight for everything and make it tough for us. Like us, they have a high profile Scottish Cup tie coming up and players will want to show why they should play in that.

"In the event of victory, who knows how much more positive the table could look for us, but I'm only interested in what we do tomorrow and events elsewhere will take care of themselves. Only we are responsible for maintaining our chase."

The recent successes have come at a price, with injury again set to keep Isaac Layne out tomorrow.

Checks will also take place on the fitness of Adam Frizzell, Matthew Shiels and PJ Crossan.

Barry Cook will referee tomorrow's game, assisted by Graham McNeillie and Andrew Craven.

All fans should enter the stadium via the east turnstiles tomorrow, and Bar 72 will be accessible to all. Stranraer fans will be taken through to the away end before the match.

Admission prices are:

Adult - 16
Concessions – OAPS, Students, 13-16 year olds - 10
U-12 - FREE

The club shop will also be open in case Santa didn't bring you exactly what you wanted this week.

Copies of Sons View, the club's award winning matchday programme, will be available priced 2.50.
