Dumbarton Football Club - Sons of the Rock 1872

VITAL GAME FOR DUMBARTON

Friday 5th November 2021

IT is a bigger Dumbarton squad which will take on Clyde at home tomorrow, but the task remains there to be done.

Having been in a position to go joint top of League One only a month ago, Sons now need the points at home to the men from Cumbernauld to avoid the other end of the table.

Only 11 points separate the entire division, meaning that every point is critical to a team's chances.

Manager Stevie Farrell will be able to welcome back Gregor Buchanan (pictured), Ross MacLean and Andy Geggan after the trio were suspended for last week's game at East Fife.

But whoever gets on the pitch tomorrow won't be sent out for a stroll in the autumn weather, with a result key for Dumbarton.

Stevie said: "We can't feel sorry for ourselves. The job of ending the current run is ours alone - nobody is going to do it for us.

"We didn't find our stride until it was way too late last Saturday - tomorrow, we must be on our game from the start.

"It's a boost being able to welcome back the three players who were suspended last week, as we certainly missed having them available.

"The workrate in training has been high as always this week, but that must now be translated into results on a matchday.

"A home double header gives us a decent chance and I want a positive start to that double header tomorrow."

Although Sons can welcome back the suspended trio, Ryan McGeever remains out and Kristoffer Syvertsen again won't feature.

If you will be at the game tomorrow, then why not come down to enjoy a pre-match drink and catch-up with fellow fans in Bar 72 beforehand?

However, don't forget that the bar will be closed after the game due to a private function.

The bar and club shop can accept payments by card, and programme sales at the home end can also now be conducted in this way.

However, turnstiles (for those paying on the day), food kiosks and away end programme sales remain cash only. If you intend to use any of these then please ensure you are carrying some cash.

If you can't make the game, then live streaming is available.

There will also be in-play Twitter commentary on our feed @DumbartonFC, and a report and reaction will be online as soon as possible after the final whistle.

Steven Kirkland is the referee tomorrow, and will be assisted by Frank Connor and Ian Hart.
