SONSTRUST BURNS SUPPER - BOOKINGS CLOSE ON FRIDAY!

Monday 7th March 2022

THE Sonstrust Burns Supper is set to take place on the evening of Friday, March 18 and bookings close this coming Friday, March 11.

It had been due to take place in January, but a decision was taken to postpone due to Covid-19 restrictions which were imposed in late 2021.

While some changes have been made to the originally advertised bill, a fantastic night is in store at the Dumbarton Football Club Stadium at the event organised by the Sonstrust as a fundraiser for Dumbarton FC.

Much-loved local minister The Rev Ian Miller will deliver the Immortal Memory to Scotland's National Bard. He replaces Professor Gerry Carruthers who unfortunately can no longer attend.

Local schoolteacher Graham Hill will propose the toast to the lassies, with Yvonne Waring delivering the reply.

Unfortunately, Sons' club poet Stephen Watt can't make the new date, but Graham will also perform some poetry recitals in his place.

Other Dumbarton fans are also on the bill, in the form of musician Robert Ryan, piper Colin Lawrie and, reciting Burns' iconic poem Tam o' Shanter, Jack Brough.

Spaces at the supper can now be reserved, and will cost 30. They can be booked by contacting Andrew Galloway at andrewg31@hotmail.com

Please do so by midday this Friday, March 11, in order that catering numbers requested for the evening can be accurate.

Many thanks for your support, and we hope you're looking forward to the evening as much as we are.
